Another huge week for Division I-A teams against their I-AA counterparts. There were 20 games between I-A and I-AA teams, with I-A teams winning 19. The only loser was Army, which fell to New Hampshire, 28-10.
After two weeks, there have been 52 games between I-A and I-AA teams, with I-A teams winning 50. Of the 139 I-A games played thus far, 37.4% have come against I-AA opposition. Remember that not all of the 139 games are nonconference. Several teams have played a conference game. Stanford has already played two.
Let's get to this week's numbers. The action starts Thursday, with North Carolina at Rutgers (-6). Friday's game is a gem, with Kansas visiting South Florida (-3.5). Always good to see Mangino prowling the sideline.
On Saturday, USC is a 10.5-point favorite over Ohio State at the L.A. Coliseum. Gamblers don't have much faith in the Buckeyes, do they? Other games of note: UCLA at Brigham Young (-9); Oregon (-7.5) at Purdue; Arkansas at Texas
(-23.5); Georgia (-7.5) at South Carolina; Wisconsin (-1) at Fresno State; Michigan at Notre Dame (-1); Georgia Tech at Virginia Tech (-7); California
(-15) at Maryland and Oklahoma (-20) at Washington. An interesting week.

I'm pretty shocked to see GT as a seven point dog to a VT team that's looked awful through two games and UGA as only a 7.5 point fav to a team that's already racked up a loss to Vandy.
Also, in a just world, they would've found a way to create betting lines so that Michigan and Notre Dame could both be 17 point underdogs to each other.
