Seriously, you don't think the top teams are going to run the table and remain undefeated? The Bowl Championship Series is headed for chaos and controversy. It's going to blow up like Mount St. Helens. It always does.
Things are calm at the moment, but when the lid pops, the ash is going to be blowing over Austin, Tuscaloosa and State College. The football gods simply wouldn't have it any other way.
So sit back, relax and enjoy the ride. It starts Tuesday with two games. Buffalo is at Ohio (-3) and Houston (-8) travels to Marshall.
On Thursday, South Florida (-3.5) takes on Cincinnati in a Big East showdown.
We start Saturday with two biggies. Texas is a 6-point favorite at Texas Tech and Florida is a 5.5-point favorite over Georgia at Jacksonville.
Other games of note: West Virginia (-3.5) at Connecticut; Iowa at Illinois (-1); Pittsburgh at Notre Dame (-5); Nebraska at Oklahoma (-21.5) and Florida State (-1.5) at Georgia Tech.
On Sunday, East Carolina is at Central Florida. No line posted at the moment.
