The rumors of the past week turned out to be true. Oregon, with an assist from Nike, unveiled its latest uniform design during a wild 55-45 victory over Arizona at Autzen Stadium.
About those wings on the shoulders. ... Rob Moseley of the Eugene Register-Guard was told by a Nike exec that the wings "developed from a functional problem of durability in the shoulder pads, with a new pattern in the shape of the wings addressing that."
Huh? Sorry, we're not buying it.
This uniform business is just starting. Moseley reports that Oregon and Nike are working to develop a new set of uniforms for the 2010 season.
