Rob Moseley, Eugene Register-Guard: Tee Martin, who interviewed for a position on Oregon's staff, has joined the staff at New Mexico as quarterbacks coach. Martin played quarterback for Tennessee's 1998 national title team.
Rick Bozich, Louisville Courier-Journal: Lousiville's program continues to leak optimism, momentum and personnel. The trend line from this offseason has been nearly as gloomy as the scoreboard from the final five games of 2008, and the trip to the 2007 Orange Bowl seems as if it were several presidential inaugurations ago, during the Woodrow Wilson administration perhaps.
The Big Lead: Notre Dame athletic director Jack Swarbrick says there is "zero momentum" for a playoff. "I was on a panel recently in New York at a conference with three other athletic directors. We were all asked what percentage of college presidents did we think would be interested in a college football playoff. And among the four athletic directors’ answers, the highest percentage anyone said was 15%."
Lance Zierlein, Houston Chronicle: This mock draft has Matthew Stafford of Georgia being the first player selected. Four players from USC go in the first round, including quarterback Mark Sanchez at No. 4.
Ted Miller, ESPN.com: Washington quarterback Jake Locker, who missed much of the 2008 season because of a thumb injury, says he's ready to pass more and run less under new coach Steve Sarkisian's pro-style offense.
Cliff Kirkpatrick, Corvallis Gazette-Times: Is Oregon State offensive coordinator Danny Langsdorf being courted by Miami coach Randy Shannon?
Oklahoman: Oklahoma and Miami have rescheduled their game at Dolphin Stadium to Oct. 3 because of a scheduling conflict with the stadium.
Joseph Goodman, Miami Herald: From worse to first. Brian White, who coached special teams and tight ends last season at winless Washington, is the new tight ends coach at BCS champion Florida.
Nathan Summers, Daily Reflector: East Carolina offensive coordinator Todd Fitch declined interest in becoming Minnesota's next offensive coordinator.
Brandon Aday, Daily Toreador: How losing players like Michael Crabtree could — and should — hold long-term benefits for Texas Tech.
Patrick Southern, Daily Athenaeum: While those on opposite sides of the political spectrum may disagree with President Barack Obama’s stance on various policy issues, most seem to agree he is a man of considerable intelligence. He showed just how smart he is by openly calling for a playoff system in major college football.
Heath Urie, Boulder Daily Camera: Former Colorado players Bernard Jackson and Lionel Harris will spend at least a year in jail after both men pleaded guilty in connection with a home-invasion-style robbery last summer.
Lincoln Journal Star: Two former Nebraska players were arrested on suspicion of making terroristic threats at a bowling alley.

I would be surprised if Oregon State O.C. Danny Langsdorf bolted for sunnier skies. It would have to be more quite a jump in pay, in my opinion.
He's an Oregon native having grown up just 45 miles north of Corvallis.
That's not to say he will remain with the Beavers forever. I just think at this point he stays.
