RN108 Lisa Fisher, Gainesville Sun: An estimated 28,000 Florida fans gathered on University Avenue after the Gators won the BCS championship game. Despite efforts to grease utility poles and lamp posts along West University, fans were climbing the poles and then jumping into the crowds below, police said. Fans were also climbing trees in the area. There were four arrests.

An AFCA official says that Brown was given incorrect information and it didn't come from the AFCA.

Martin Renzhofer, Salt Lake Tribune: Kyle Whittingham isn't bitter about Utah not having the chance to play for the BCS title, but he says BCS coordinator John Swofford is wrong in saying that the system allowed the Utes to show their wares in a major bowl game. "We would have been invited regardless of what system was in place," the coach said.

Mel Bracht, Oklahoma: No shortage of goofs by the Fox crew on the telecast of the title game.

Steve Ellis, Tallahassee Democrat: Florida State's Bobby Bowden, who says he fell asleep before halftime of the BCS title game, says he's definitely returning for another season.

Brett McMurphy, Tampa Tribune: Former Miami quarterback Robert Marve will now be allowed to transfer to South Florida or Central Florida, but Marve's father is still not happy that Hurricane coach Randy Shannon won't allow his son to consider Florida, Louisiana State or Tennessee.

Don Williams, Lubbock Avalanche-Journal: Texas Tech's Michael Crabtree is leaving early for the NFL. His father expects the receiver to be among the first 10 selections.

Dave Matter, Columbia Tribune: Missouri receiver Jeremy Maclin is entering April's NFL draft.

Ian R. Rapoport, Birmingham News: Alabama running back Glen Coffee has decided to give up his senior season of eligibility and will enter the NFL draft.

Jay Drew, Salt Lake Tribune: Brigham Young receiver Austin Collie is leaving a year early to turn pro.

Joshua D. Scroggin, San Luis Obispo Tribune: Former Army offensive coordinator Tim Walsh is expected to become the coach at Cal Poly. He would replace Rich Ellerson, who left to become coach at Army.
