Nick Montana, a quarterback recruit from Thousand Oaks High in California, is touring the campuses of Alabama and Georgia this weekend. He's drawing a lot of attention, but that's to be expected when you are the son of NFL Hall of Famer Joe Montana.
The young Montana told Michael Carvell of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that he has scholarship offers from South Carolina, Stanford, Louisiana State, Ohio State, Florida State, Nebraska, Notre Dame, North Carolina, Georgia, Maryland, Alabama and Arizona. Tennessee, USC and Oklahoma have expressed interest.
Hopefully there weren't any college scouts in the crowd the night I saw Montana play. He threw three interceptions in a playoff game against Pioneer Valley last December. Nonetheless, his team won.
Notre Dame quarterback Jimmy Clausen played at Thousand Oaks, and the sons of NHL great Wayne Gretzky and actor Will Smith currently play for the team.

That's good. It will be a great opportunity for those high school kids to be a football star. It's a good deed indeed.
