Until Saturday, there was only one Pizza Bowl — the Papajohns.com Bowl in Birmingham. But somebody got the wise idea that having another Pizza Bowl was a good idea.
Wiz readers, of course, know better. This site has long had the market cornered on Pizza Bowl coverage because ace correspondent Greg Laughlin is the only person to walk the face of the Earth to have attended not only all three Pizza Bowls in Birmingham, but the initial offering in Detroit. Take that!
Saturday's "announced" crowd was said to be be 30,311, but it clearly fell short of that number. Dan Wetzel of Yahoo! Sports tweeted, "Nigerian terrorist appreciation night would draw better than Pizza Bowl."
