I thought the whole deal with Kiffin and Meyer started because Kiffin said Urban couldn't text recruits while they were on UT's campus.
This says coaches can't text recruits at all.

Perhaps the rule was changed. The NCAA has been making a lot of rules changes because of the impact of technology on recruiting.
