Big weekend in Iowa City. The Hawkeyes crushed something called Eastern Illinois, 37-7 on Saturday, but the big news came Friday night when 7,384 fans put their right hand in, their right hand out and set a Guinness World Record for most people doing the Hokey Pokey.
Welcome to Iowa.
The Hokey Pokey madness started when Hayden Fry was Iowa coach. When Fry's Hawkeyes upset an opponent, the players did the dance in the locker room.
This was one of those moments after an Iowa upset of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
Fry, 81, was part of Friday's festivities, but he didn't do the Hokey Pokey. "I know I can get my left foot in, but I'd struggle like hell to get it out," he said.
