There might have been yet another Division I-AA team scoring an upset in Week 1 had it not been for a team suffering what amounted to a collective cramp.
Norfolk State was going toe to toe with Rutgers in the third quarter of Thursday night's game at Piscataway, trailing the Scarlet Knights, 6-0.
In less than a three-minute span, six Spartan defensive players go down with cramps. Inexplicably, Norfolk State players continue to avoid drinking fluids and Rutgers takes advantage, eventually rolling to a 31-0 victory.
