The week starts with a Tuesday night game between Toledo and Northern Illinois. Although the teams are tied atop the West Division of the Mid-American Conference, oddsmakers have listed the Huskies as 11.5-point favorites.
On Wednesday, Miami (Ohio) visits Bowling Green. The RedHawks, playing their third road game in a row and needing only one victory to become bowl eligible for the first time since 2005, are 3-point favorites.
On Thursday, Big East leader Pittsburgh travels to Connecticut. The Panthers opened as 5-point favorites, but that number has jumped to 7 at one Nevada sportsbook at the time of this post. Thursday's other game features East Carolina at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. The Pirates, who gave up a stunning 76 points to Navy, are favored by 2.
Friday's featured game has Boise State at Idaho. There was a lot of trash talking in the offseason between the schools and the Broncos opened as 30-point favorites. That number has already jumped to 35 at one sportsbook. Ball State is at Buffalo in the other game. The Bulls are favored by 3.
Saturday's games of note: Southern Mississippi at Central Florida (-7); Miami (-4) at Georgia Tech; Iowa (-10) at Northwestern; Clemson at Florida State (-8); Texas A&M (-3) at Baylor; South Carolina at Florida (-7); Utah (-4) at Notre Dame; Georgia at Auburn (-8.5); Oregon (-20) at California; Stanford (-7) at Arizona State; Oklahoma State (-6.5) at Texas; Penn State at Ohio State (-17); Virginia Tech (-3.5) at North Carolina; San DIego State at Texas Christian (-25) and USC at Arizona (-4.5).
