The big losers on Saturday were Oklahoma and Wisconsin. The big winners were Louisiana State and Alabama, who are headed for a Nov. 5 showdown in Tuscaloosa.
The Southeastern Conference powerhouses are idle this coming Saturday and can begin preparations for the long-awaited game of the year. But the loser won't necessarily be knocked out of Bowl Championship Series title contention, according to the BCS Guru.
Should LSU and Alabama play a tight game, there is a distinct possibility the loser could climb back to the No. 2 spot by the end of the regular season.
That's because Oklahoma State, projected to be No. 3 in the official BCS standings, is the only team within reasonable distance of the top two. Should the Cowboys stumble, then the LSU-Alabama loser would likely move back into the No. 2 spot.
The Guru projects the top three teams will be followed by Clemson, Stanford and Boise State. The official standings will be released Sunday night.
The Guru has a complete breakdown on his site.
