First things first. Army and Navy square off Saturday at FedEx Field in Landover, Md., in the final regular season game of the 2011 season. The Midshipmen have won 10 in a row in the series and are favored by 7. Check out the cool website created for the game.
The bowl season — 35 games over 23 days — starts with three games on Saturday, Dec. 17. Leading off is the New Mexico Bowl between Temple and Wyoming. The Owls are favored by 6.5 points. Utah State and Ohio play in the Idaho Bowl and the Aggies are 3-point favorites. The nightcap is the New Orleans Bowl between San Diego State and Louisiana Lafayette, with the Aztecs favored by 5.5.
It ends on Jan. 9 with the Bowl Championship Series title game between Alabama and Louisiana State in New Orleans. The Tigers are favored by 1.
