A shaky start for Wisconsin, which stands 3-2 after losing its Big Ten opener at Nebraska. But the Badgers remain the favorite to win the Leaders Division, in part because Ohio State and Penn State are ineligible for postseason competition. Wisconsin has to edge out Purdue, Indiana and Illinois for a trip to the Big Ten title game and shot at a third consecutive Rose Bowl.
It was a spectacular Saturday in Winston-Salem, N.C., home of the Wake Forest Demon Deacons, who were playing host to the Black Knights of Army. Wake Forest treated the announced homecoming crowd of 30,027 to a 49-37 victory, the Demon Deacons' best offensive game in three years.

UCLA's return to prominence — at least in the first month of the season — is one of the surprising stories thus far. It was expected the Bruins would beat Rice and Houston, but the 36-30 victory over Nebraska on Sept. 8 was a stunner. UCLA shredded Nebraska's defense for 653 yards. The Bruins begin Pacific 12 play Saturday against Oregon State at the Rose Bowl.
