Here is the ad that UCLA's marketing department placed in the Fresno Bee this week in an attempt to entice Bulldog fans to buy tickets to Saturday's game between Fresno State and the Bruins at the Rose Bowl.
Thanks to Brian Dohn of the Los Angeles Daily News for tracking down the ad. The uproar has forced UCLA athletic director Dan Guerrero to re-examine the way the football program is marketed. Probably a good idea, considering that many UCLA players were upset that their school would sell out the program in such a way.
"I can assure you, from my prospective as we move forward, you'll see a different approach to our marketing efforts this season," Guerrero said.
UCLA also ran a radio ad, but all the spots were pulled late in the week.
