The Atlantic Coast Conference might be struggling on the field, but it's a clear winner in graduating so-called "student-athletes."
According to data released by the NCAA, the ACC graduated 72.3% of football players who enrolled between 1998 and 2001, easily outdistancing the Big East, which had a 67.4% grad rate.
The bottom feeders are the Western Athletic, which cranks them out at a 53.9% clip, and the Southeastern, which earned a 60.5% score.
Jon Solomon of the Birmingham News scores the winners and losers in each conference. Using the ACC as an example, Boston College and Duke lead with a 92% graduation rate. Georgia Tech is at the bottom at 48%.
Solomon also examines how the top 25 would look if reshuffled based on academics.
