In the end, Michigan was coming apart at the seams. Check out this video of Wolverine defensive players arguing with coaches during the Ohio State game.
Now that the 3-9 nightmare is over, the real fun has started. Sports By Brooks found audio of Michigan State's Mark Dantonio ripping the Wolverines after his Spartans were drilled at Penn State:
"Dantonio quickly brushed off questions about being embarrassed with his team with the retort, '… embarrassing would have been to come into this game at 3-9.' "
Rich Rod has yet to respond, instead saying that upperclassmen were behind the Wolverines' fall from grace:
"By the time you get to the third and fourth year, your players become an extension of your staff and they help coach. Right now, even today we’ve got upperclassmen that make a mistake or two."
Junior running back Brandon Minor acknowledged that some of his teammates didn't believe in Rich Rod:
"Everybody on the team didn’t buy in like they’re supposed to. We’ve got a couple guys not going hard, but we’ll correct that. Most definitely. It ain't happening on my watch next year."
