No offense, but these "after the fact" postings are a little cheap shoty.
It's sports, not science. You give your opinion and sometimes you are wrong. That's the nature of the biz. Esp. when it's your job to opine on EVERY game and are dealing with contests involving 18-22 year old kids.
p.s. Most people in the land thought that Alabama would be "bigger, faster, stronger and better." Thus, the DD spread that was going up until game time.

Either way, Mark May wastes more oxygen and brain cells than just about any other major talking head in the sports world. He seems unable to take a moderate position on anything and for a time this year, he amused me with his anti-Holtz opinions, but now he's just irritating and the sound of his bleating makes me want to abuse my TV....and that 's not good 'cause I just bought it.
So anyway, cheap shot all ya want on this hammerhead.

The only reason why most people thought that Alabama was "bigger, faster, stronger and better" is that they didn't do their homework. The BYU O-Line looked much like the 'Bama O-Line, and the Utes kept Max Hall running for his life the whole game. The Utes were dominant in the latter part of the regular season, against very high quality opposition, but no one paid attention. Attention must be paid! Especially when you go on national TV...
