Minnesota coach Tim Brewster has discovered a new use for Twitter. His account was used last week to insult Minneapolis Star Tribune columnist Patrick Reusse.
The post read: "How would you like to wake up in the morning and look in the mirror...... if your Fat Pat."
Although Brewster was reportedly told to delete the entry, it remained on an RSS feed and a copy was snagged by Black Heart Gold Pants.
Reusse, left, was asked about the post and acknowledged he knew all about it. "Coach Brew has detected that I'm overweight and that makes him an astute observer. And this situation could in no way lessen my opinion of him," Reusse said.
Minnesota fans have jumped in the fray. This following entry came from thread about the new TCF Bank Stadium on the Scout fan site Golden Sports: "Tipsy, Lloyd and I have begun the procurement process of urinal cakes with Fat Pat's photo on them. We are hoping to have enough to hit up every pisser in TCF for opening day. The one problem is that there is a cost associated with doing so. While we could sell the cakes for a profit, we would just prefer to have as many as possible for 9.12.09.
"Admin, can we use this site and incorporate a paypal link for donations to our cause? We are working out a target capital raise as I write."
Fire the asshole!

FYI -- "Fat Pat" has been Reusse's nickname on Gopher message boards for a long time. His insults of the Gophers and their coaches go far beyond "journalism" and it irritates true Gopher fans. It works in the Strib bc enough IA and WI transplants like reading it. The thread about fans wanting Fat Pat urinal cakes has nothing to do with the Twitter. And BTW, while it's a funny story, all indications were that Brewster didn't actually write it.
