A look at how prognosticators from around the country view this week's games.
Double D, Boston Herald: If Stanford loses to Arizona State, its chances of becoming bowl eligible seem remote. Fortunately the Sun Devils are struggling offensively. The Cardinal are a 6-point favorite and, given the importance of the game to the hosts, look like a solid favorite. Lay the points.
Tim Sullivan, New York Post: Boston College has been outscored, 73-21, and outgained by 477 yards in its two road games. Notre Dame covered last week at home against USC and has the better quarterback. Take the Fighting Irish and give the points.
Jon Wilner, College Sports Hotline: Don't be fooled by USC's aerial output in South Bend — Notre Dame has the 117th-ranked pass defense. The Beavers, getting 21 points, will keep Matt Barkley and Co. from running away and hiding. His national picks include Idaho covering the spread at Nevada.
Heisman Pundit: Clemson is coming off a nice win, but the Tigers won't be any match for Miami and quarterback Jacory Harris. Take the visiting Hurricanes and give the 4.5 points.
Chuck Carlton, Dallas Morning News: The best game of the weekend is in Provo, and the Brigham Young Cougars, out for revenge against Texas Christian, are going to get it. BYU 21, TCU 20.
Phil Steele: Auburn has lost two in row, but it hasn't lost hope. The Tigers are going to surprise Louisiana State, 24-23.
Reno Journal-Gazette: Handicapper Lee Sterling is 7-0 and likes underdog Connecticut to cover the number at West Virginia.
Tony Barnhart, Atlanta Journal-Constitution: He has a 52-18 record, but it's not against the number. He's picking Georgia Tech to win at Virginia.
Brett McMurphy, FanHouse: Big East picks. Rutgers will cover the 10 points against Army.
John Werner, Waco Tribune-Herald: Baylor will continue to struggle without quarterback Robert Griffin. Oklahoma State 35, Baylor 10.
The National Championship Issue: Ohio State is going to win, but Terrelle Pryor will continue to struggle. Take Minnesota and the points.
Bob Condotta, Seattle Times: His Pac-10 picks include favorites California, Arizona and Stanford.
Mike Hlas, Cedar Rapids Gazette: Hlastradamus says take Iowa State and the points at Nebraska.
