You've no doubt seen the catch by East Carolina's Justin Jones on the final play of Sunday's game against Tulsa, giving the Pirates a wild 51-49 victory, but what did it look like from the Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium stands? Check it out.
It turns out the stands were not the safest place to be. Shortly before kickoff, several rows of a new section of bleachers gave way and about a dozen Pirate fans suffered minor injuries. Officials cleared the area and asked fans not to jump on the bleachers the rest of the game, which was not an easy thing to do considering the back and forth nature of the contest.
After the jump is what the play looked like on TV. Jones got in front of defenders and used his 6-foot-8 frame to snare the ball.
It wasn't the only fantastic finish in Week 1. Jacksonville State stunned Mississippi, 49-48, in double overtime in Oxford. SEC Speed, Baby!
