Move over Northwestern and Illinois. Northern Illinois can make a solid argument at being the best Division I-A team in the state.
The Huskies are coming off back-to-back Mid-American Conference championships and have won 21 of 23 and 34 of their last 42 games.
Quarterback Jordan Lynch, who finished sixth in the Heisman voting, is back. The defense must find new headliners, but the team is picked as the favorite to win the MAC.
Northern Illinois has two games against teams from BCS conferences — at Iowa on Aug. 31 and at Purdue on Sept. 28.
Thanks to Greg.
