Alabama is No. 1 in Bovada's list of odds to win the championship playoff. The Crimson Tide is listed at 6/1. Florida State and Oklahoma are 15/2 and Auburn is No. 4 at 8/1.

Oregon's Marcus Mariota continues to be the Heisman favorite at 7/4, followed by Georgia's Todd Gurley at 7/2. Nebraska's Ameer Abdullah and Texas A&M's Kenny Hill are 9/1.

Just Another Saturday Night on the Bayou for LSU

Sam Wasson of Bleed Crimson was in Baton Rouge for Saturday's game between New Mexico State and Louisiana State. The Tigers rolled to a 63-7 victory and play Auburn on Saturday. LSU is a 7.5-point underdog on the opening line. New Mexico State plays host to Georgia Southern and is a 14.5-point underdog.

Massachusetts Toppled by Bowling Green

Wiz correspondent Greg Laughlin took in Saturday's matchup between Bowling Green and Massachusetts at McGuirk Stadium in Amherst, Mass. It was the first on-campus game for the Minutemen since 2011. McGuirk has been refurbished in conjunction with Massachusetts' move to Division I-A and the team had been playing at Gillette Stadium in the interim.

Not everything went according to plan. Massachusetts lost, 47-42, and a scoreboard at the stadium collapsed. Thankfully, no one was hurt. Deadspin has video from the ESPN3 broadcast of the moment of the board's collapse. Before and after images can be viewed at this link.

Crystal Ball

Reno Gazette-Journal: It's a good week to pick underdogs, according to four handicappers. Arkansas, Washington and North Carolina State are among the plays.

Matt Youmans, Las Vegas Review-Journal: He's picking Notre Dame and Everett Golson to cover the number against Syracuse.

Tom Fornelli, CBS Sports: The top picks include Texas Christian, Duke and Texas A&M.

Bruce Feldman and Stewart Mandel, Fox Sports: The Dynamic Duo agree that Georgia will rout Tennessee and Florida State will manhandle North Carolina State. Oh, and Arkansas' impressive start is about to come to a crashing halt.

Mike Hlas, Cedar Rapids Gazette: It was only a matter of time before Hlastradamus turned it around. His 4-1 record in Week 4 is a season best, and he promises to deliver again, including his daring play of Illinois and the points at Nebraska.

Howie Kussoy, New York Post: The Pigskin Profit's weekend got off to a slow start with his selection of Arizona State over UCLA. But he did pick Texas Tech to cover against Oklahoma State. So onto the other winners, like Tennessee and the points against Georgia.

Jon Wilner, College Hotline: He already cashed on UCLA. Now he's moving on to bigger game, including Oregon State and the points against USC and Washington State and the points against Utah.

Mississippi State Cheap Shot

Mississippi State center Dillon Day has been suspended one game by the Southeastern Conference for "multiple flagrant and unsportsmanlike acts" during the Bulldogs' 34-29 victory over Louisiana State on Saturday night. You'll see him stomp on the Tigers' Davon Godchaux in this video.

Day will sit out the Oct. 4 game against Texas A&M.

This isn't the first time Day has been suspended for a stomp. He sat out half a game last season after stepping on an Auburn player.
