Appalachian State's Win Is a Program First

Greg Laughlin spent last Saturday in Jonesboro, Ark., where he watched Appalachian State upend Arkansas State, 37-22, before 20,016 at Centennial Bank Stadium. This is the Mountaineers first season in the Sun Belt, and the victory was the program's first in 11 games played west of the Mississippi River. Appalachian State has won four in a row.

USC Holds Off California

Miley Cyrus made an appearance at Thursday night's California-USC game at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, and the pop singer got the desired Hollywood attention when she was spotted kissing USC student Patrick Schwarzenegger, son of actor and former California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.
