The harsh reality is that Paul Rhoads needs to get Iowa State to a bowl game in order to keep his job as coach. Rhoads is 29-46 in Ames, but but only five of those victories have come in the past two seasons. Iowa State is nearing completion on a $60 million expansion of Jack Trice Stadium that will bring capacity to 61,000. That will make the facility the third largest in the Big 12 behind Texas and Oklahoma.
