Cincinnati Overpowers Syracuse, 30-13

Wiz correspondent Greg Laughlin spent Saturday in Syracuse, where the hometown Orange took on Big East rival Cincinnati. The Bearcats won, 30-13, marking the fourth consecutive loss for Syracuse, which will need a victory Saturday at Pittsburgh to become eligible for a bowl.

Cincinnati can clinch a share of its third Big East title in four years with a win Saturday against Connecticut. That, combined with a West Virginia loss to South Florida on Thursday night, would give the Bearcats the league's automatic BCS bowl berth.

ESPN sideline reporter Jenn Brown accidentally refers to Cincinnati coach Butch Jones as "Bitch" Jones.

Cincinnati finished 4-8 in Butch Jones' first season as coach and the Bearcats are looking to avoid their first back-to-back losing campaigns since 1998-99. The nonconference schedule features games at Tennessee and at home against North Carolina State.

Rutgers Is No Match for Cincinnati

Rutgers and Cincinnati have experienced disappointing seasons, but things went from bad to worse Saturday night for the Scarlet Knights. Cincinnati rolled to a 69-38 victory at Nippert Stadium, leaving each team with 4-6 records. Although four of Rutgers' losses have come by a total of 11 points, Saturday's blowout has some Scarlet Knight fans wondering if Greg Schiano is the best coach to lead the team.

Cincinnati Gets Off to Fast Start in Big East

Cincinnati opened defense of its Big East title and kept the Keg of Nails with a 35-27 victory over Louisville Friday night at Louisville. Wiz correspondent Greg Laughlin was among the 55,106 at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium, and you can view his gallery by clicking here.

It was a significant victory for the Bearcats, who have won 13 consecutive Big East games. Cincinnati plays four of its last six games at Nippert Stadium, where it has won 14 in a row.
