Auburn

New coach Gene Chizik is front and center for the Tigers, who will try and rebound from a 5-7 season. The defense did its job in 2008, ranking 14th nationally in points given up, but the offense was tied for 110th in scoring. Five of the seven losses came by 10 or fewer points and had Auburn been able to punch in a touchdown or two at key points, Tommy Tuberville might still be around. But a change was made and Chizik, who lost his last 10 games as coach at Iowa State, was brought in to turn things around. Having eight home games will certainly help. Thanks to Tyler!

Bowling Green

Not so long ago, a guy named Urban Meyer was coaching Bowling Green. Meyer left for Utah after the 2002 season and Gregg Brandon took over, going 44-30 in six seasons. Normally that's good enough to hang on to a job, but 20 of Brandon's victories came in his first two seasons and he was a pedestrian 24-24 since. Bowling Green decided it was time for a change and Dave Clawson was hired. He continues his climb up the ranks after building programs at Fordham and Richmond and spending last season as Tennessee's offensive coordinator. With only 10 starters returning, this appears to be a rebuilding season for the Falcons. Thanks to Brian!
