Seantrel Henderson, This Is Your Life!

Update: Seantrel Henderson announced he would return for his final season of eligibility, but there has been no announcement of alleged NCAA infractions committed by Miami. Columnist Greg Cote of the Miami Herald writes that enough is enough. The school either deserves a notice of allegations or a letter of apology from the NCAA.

Today we revisit the case of one Seantrel Henderson. Remember him?

Henderson was the No. 1 recruit in the class of 2010 out of Cretin-Derham Hall High in Minnesota. He's back in the news again because on Monday, the offensive lineman will announce whether he plans to return for his final season of eligibility at Miami or play his odds in the NFL draft. The smart money has been on Henderson returning, but that was before word leaked that the NCAA planned to deliver a list of alleged infractions to the school on the same day.

If Henderson is looking for the first ride out of town, it wouldn't come as a surprise to anyone at USC. Henderson bailed on that school after it was slapped with NCAA probation in 2010. Who could forget his signing day announcement on CBS College Sports that he was going to be a Trojan? The video proof is above.

But the 6-foot-8, 340-pound manchild leveraged NCAA sanctions against USC to get out of his scholarship. He transferred to Miami, where it has been a bumpy ride at best.

The Next Reggie Bush Is Headed to ... Chadron State?

It's a video that has been viewed more than 9 million times. Cody Paul was only 12 in 2006, but the shifty moves of the pint-sized running back/return specialist earned comparisons to Reggie Bush.

Paul helped the Los Alamitos Griffins win a Pee Wee Pop Warner national championship, then he played for Los Alamitos High in Orange County, California.

He put together a decent senior season — 1,201 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns in 158 carries, according to MaxPreps — but the big teams weren't interested in the 5 foot 5, 159 pound Paul.

With few options, Paul decided to continue his playing career at Division II Chadron State, which is located in northwest Nebraska, not far from South Dakota and Wyoming.

Paul Barely Getting a Sniff From College Recruiters

Remember Cody Paul? Back in 2006 when he was 12, Paul was the pint-sized terror of a running back/return specialist for the Los Alamitos Griffins, the Pee-Wee Pop Warner national champions. After the above video of Paul was posted on YouTube, it went viral. To date, it has been viewed nearly 8 million times with over 23,000 comments.

Paul is now a senior starting tailback/return specialist at Los Alamitos High in Orange County, California. After the jump is a highlight video from his junior season, when he ran for 676 yards and six touchdowns.

The snake oil salesmen known as recruitniks are just around the corner, ready to spread their b.s. in coming weeks. Please, don't take the bait.

Recruiting rankings are a fraud, and here is our latest piece of evidence. David Biderman of the Wall Street Journal examined the 1,496 bowl game starters and found that only 8.4% of them were top-100 recruits.

Alabama's Mark Ingram, pictured with this post, was not among that select group. Ditto for Texas' Colt McCoy.
